welcome!

Hello to everyone who may have stumbled upon this page, and hello to Dr. Dan and the rest of my Treks and Texts class!

My name is Kennedy O'Kelley, and I'm from Dallas, Texas. I went to high school at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, and I am currently a junior Acting major at Texas Christian University. I am also a member of the John V. Roach Honors College at TCU, which is what led to the conception of this blog! I am currently in the Upper Division Honors Colloquia class Treks and Texts, where we will be reading nature literature, and observing and writing about our own experiences in the vast wilderness (or the Fort Worth Zoo).

I am extremely excited to begin the work of the course, and cannot wait to start sharing my experiences in the big blue world. (:

Attached is one of my favorite videos I've taken from my time in Costa Rica in the summer of 2019. I love it because the landscape is so diverse--you can see rainforest, mountains, and this lake, which is one famous in CR for its residential alligator population. I also love the hubbub created by all the other creatures who call this place home.

  1. Sorry I did not comment earlier on your "welcome" post. It's lovely, and I especially liked your video from Cost Rica. Now I understand where your big blog photo is from. I had guessed Colorado. Loved your reference to the big blue world.
